(Title) Good Morning! Beijing!

Mom and I made it to Beijing last night at midnight. We were VERY happy to have a nice bed to stretch out in with big fluffy pillows. We slept in till 4:30am (time change has us a bit off), and studied our lesson plans. We are in a hotel tonight that serves both western and Chinese breakfast. We sampled both and were happy to have one more pancake before we head to a land of where pancakes are a thing of mystery.

I have made it a goal to try to say at least one thing in Chinese to people I encounter. So far, everyone has understood me and been very nice to tell me that I speak Chinese well. I found out why it is a bit risky last night. I asked our taxi driver why we were stopped in a traffic jam. He went on a rant in Chinese and expected that I understood. The only thing that I think I was able to decipher was that some foreign dignitary was blocking the road with their motorcade. Mom thought she heard the name "Obama". Wouldn't that beat all?

Well, today we will keep trying to get our body clocks in rhythm with the local time. We fly on to Guangzhou this afternoon and then take a 2 hour ride to Jiangmen City.

Gotta go!
