Title "Settling into Jiangmen"
Here we are in our home away from home for the next month. We arrived at our apartment around 9pm. We were pretty beat but eager to find out what our living conditions would be like.
I'm happy to say that we will be diving into life in China right away. Our apartment is a typical Chinese style apartment. It is on the 14th floor and has an efficiency kitchen and bathroom. We are sharing it with 3 other adults. Mom and I have a bunk bed and a window with a river view.
Last night the people on the streets were watching the soccer game and every once in a while we were awakened to big cheers.
Today we met the other teachers and went through orientation. We had noodles for lunch and are working on what our English classes will look like. We are still deciding if we are going to be teaching adults or kids. It should be a lot of fun either way.
(The pictures are of the locals fishing by the Forbidden City, our bedroom)
Yeah! Pictures! I'm so excited to see a glimpse of what you are doing. I have kept you in my prayers and know you are going to be safe and have a wonderful time. We already really miss you. But, we can't wait to hear all the stories you'll have when you come back. I wonder how much you'll get to eat...noodles sounds so not-filling. Love you!
ReplyDeleteSorry to see the tiny bunk bed, hope you and your mom have sweet dreams every night.^^
